Gymnasium Riedberg

Description

The Gymnasium Riedberg is a secondary school (Gymnasium) with a strong focus on science, mathematics and bilingual education. The school educates approximately 1,600 students aged between 10 and 18 and employs around 120 qualified teachers. It offers a broad and challenging academic programme designed to foster both subject-specific knowledge and transversal competences such as critical thinking, collaboration and independent learning.

A key element of the school’s profile is the promotion of high-achieving and highly motivated students. Learners are encouraged to participate in a wide range of academic competitions, particularly in the STEM field. These include, among others, Jugend forscht and the Mathematics Olympiad. In addition, exceptionally gifted students are supported through individual enrichment measures, including participation in university-level courses as so-called “student pupils” (Schülerstudium), allowing them early access to higher education and advanced academic content.
